Victim's Name:
A Peruvian wooden figure, wrapped in woollen cloth.
Age:
The figure dates from AD900-1532.
Used For:
The figure's use is not certain but it is likely to have been part of a grave offering - wooden figures were often
included in graves as offerings, or perhaps as guardians.
Place of Residence:
The figure comes from Peru. It has been in the museum's collection since 1951 and has been kept in a box in storage.
(It will shortly go on display at World Museum Liverpool).
Damage:
The damage is to the figure's dress. The fabric has holes and the fibres are
brittle and are shedding constantly. The
blue areas are especially tattered.

Amongst the material tiny black pellets and fibres were found.
