Victim's Name: Carved ivory tusk.

Age: Made in the 19th century.

Used For: As a sign of royal office at the Oba's (king's) palace. It would have sat on the ancestral altar.

Place of Residence: Originally in the Oba's Palace in Benin City, Nigeria. Now kept in World Museum Liverpool.

Damage: The ivory is cracked and blackened, with a flaking surface and some parts missing.
