Liverpool Blitz: 1pm
Salt herring and white bread is the lunch at Huyton internment camp; a
fenced-in council house estate on the edge of Liverpool. Germans, Austrians and Italians suspected of being enemy spies
are held at the camp. Some internees have children
in the British forces, and others were Allied soldiers themselves during the First World War.
