That's pretty much what it is, a toilet. Drug smugglers sometimes swallow drugs wrapped in condoms, balloons or the fingers
of latex gloves so that they can be carried, undetected, through customs. There is only way to get the drugs out and that's
where the Frost Chamber comes in.
Suspects are required to remove all of their own clothes and to put on a paper suit (you can see it hanging on the back wall). This stops them hiding any materials. Then the Customs Officers keep the suspect under constant supervision while they wait for nature to take its course. This may take several days, but eventually the suspect will have to go to the toilet (on the left) and the swallowed packages appear. The packets are then washed in the small chamber to the right of the toilet and are taken away to be analysed.
This example was one of the first Frost Chambers, used at Gatwick airport from 1988 to 1993.
