Said 'Pos-eye-don'. Poseidon was the king of the sea. He took the sea from the god Nereus and married one of his fifty daughters, a Nereid called Amphitrite. His emblem is the trident or three pronged spear which could cause typhoons, hurricanes, and earthquakes. This made him a god of disasters too. His Roman equivalent was Neptune.
